I designed the Gangwon Early Childhood Language Development Support Project in May 2024, ahead of the program's survey launch in the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province of South Korea. This initiative aims to identify and support children aged 3-5 with language delays through early detection and personalized speech therapy services, delivered in collaboration with local speech rehabilitation experts. My role focused on creating a user-friendly UI to facilitate accessibility and streamline the process for parents, educators, and therapists.
The province already had established questionnaires for detecting language delays in children aged 3-5, and my role was to digitize these forms into an accessible and user-friendly interface. This digital transformation streamlined data collection and enabled local speech rehabilitation experts to provide personalized therapy services more efficiently.
I worked on this project at Song & Stark (my former employer) for one of our clients. With no knowledge of Korean, I navigated documents written entirely in Korean using translators, fingers crossed it turned out fine!😂
The homepage and about page feature a clean, intuitive design that highlights key program details, provides seamless navigation, and presents the project’s mission and goals in a clear and engaging layout.
The survey pages are simple and easy to use, with clear instructions and progress indicators to guide users. They also include images to make the experience more engaging. For the showcase, I’ve included just a sample of the survey pages.
Phone screens
The project included several pages, as shown in the screenshots, each carefully designed to ensure ease of use and accessibility. Through this project, I learned the importance of balancing functionality with simplicity, especially when digitizing established systems, to create a seamless experience for both users and administrators.
